Welcome to Serenity’s Gift

Foot & hand reflexology is a scientific art based on the idea that there are zones and reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all parts of the body.  The physical act of applying specific pressure to specific points on the hands and feet result in stress reduction; which causes a physiological change in the body.

The Aim of Reflexology is to relax tension, improve nerve and blood supply, and bring the whole body back into natural balance. It is never meant to be used instead of traditional medicine, but rather in conjunction with traditional medicine as an aid to healing and healthy living.

The goal of Reflexology is to eliminate toxins from the body.  The body naturally gets rid of its waste salts via the skin, urinary system and the digestive system.  If the body is not functioning 100%, then some of these waste toxins stay in the body.  They collect in the nerve endings related to the part of the body that is mal-functioning.  The toxins crystallize in the nerve endings. The job of the Reflexologist is to help the body rid itself of these crystals. By carefully working over the whole area of the feet and hands they are able to break down the crystals.

The Lymphatic system, the body’s cleansing system, washes out the dissolves toxins. These toxins are then excreted in the normal way.  The patient is advised to drink extra water, six to eight glasses a day, for three days after the treatment to help with the cleansing effect.

Reflexology is not a new fad; it was used by the Ancient Egyptians and Asian Indians over 5000 years ago and by the Chinese over 10,000 years ago where it was used as a maintenance therapy along with Acupuncture.

In addition to Reflexology, Healing Touch and Reiki are other therapies used by natural practitioners. These use the layers of energy that surrounds the body.  This energy is redirected back to the body.  It improves the blood circulation and increases the oxygen supply to the body, thus improving the healing of the body.  The energy layers around the body also relate to the spiritual, emotional and mental well-being of the patient. These treatments treat the whole person rather than just one part.  After a treatment patients comment that they feel at peace, have improved concentration, and are better able to cope with the demands of life.

Prescription Alternatives:Hundreds of Safe, Natural, Prescription-Free Remedies to Restore and Maintain Your Health

Prescription Alternatives:Hundreds of Safe, Natural, Prescription-Free Remedies to Restore and Maintain Your Health, Fourth Edition

Each year, 140,000 Americans die from the adverse effects of prescription drug use, and 938,000 Americans are “injured” due to prescription and dispensing errors. Eleven million people are abusing prescription drugs. Drug companies are forming “alliances” with HMOs to control the drugs you take, often at the expense of simpler, cheaper, and healthier lifestyle changes. No wonder alternative-medicine crusader Earl Mindell, author of Earl Mindell’s Vitamin Bible and Earl Mindell’s Herb Bible, wants you to inform yourself and take control of your treatment. “Physicians … are trained to diagnose a disease and find a pill to treat it with,” he says. It’s up to us, the patients, to investigate the potential side effects of our prescription drugs and alternatives to taking them.

Prescription Alternatives is a layperson’s crash course in prescription drugs and alternative treatments, such as dietary changes and nutritional supplements. Mindell covers drug interactions, how to read labels and inserts, and how to avoid abuse. He discusses prescription drugs and alternative treatments in detail for heart disease, digestive diseases, respiratory illnesses, pain relief, infections, sleep disorders, depression, diabetes, eye diseases, prostate enlargement, hormone replacement, osteoporosis, and herpes.

It is an easy-to-use, immediate reference for all the information you need about how medications affect your body, what you can do to counteract imbalances, and what alternative treatments work best. “FDA approved” doesn’t mean it’s safe!

  • · Prescription drugs can deplete the body of essential vitamins and minerals
  • · Studies show that H2 blockers for heartburn can cause bone loss
  • · Drugs to treat diabetes can increase risk of heart disease and death

Covering the major prescription drugs in use today and their dangerous side effects, natural health expert Dr. Earl Mindell lays the foundation for a sound body with safer alternatives to these medicines.

New drugs and natural alternatives for:

  • · Heart disease
  • · Diabetes
  • · Obesity-related ailments

Hands of Light

Hands of Light:A Guide to Healing Through the Human Energy Field, by Barbara Ann Brennan, is a scientist’s look at the field of bio-energetic healing, offering specific techniques towards expanding perceptual tools of healing, seeing auras, understanding psycho-dynamics and the human energy field, and spiritual healing. Trained as a physicist and psychotherapist, Brennan has spent the last 15 years studying the human energy field and working as a healer. Hands of Light goes beyond conventional, objective knowledge while retaining scientific clarity. It details a study of the human energy field and how it is intimately connected to a person’s health and well being and contains essential information for anyone involved in healing and conscious health care, including people seeking to heal themselves. Science and spirituality may currently be at odds, but fortunately there will always be scientists who are spiritual seekers, and it is in the mingling of the two worlds where wisdom is born.
